The Swedes have long been skeptical about the euro - but reservations have never been as great as they are today. In a recent survey, 64 per cent of Swedes said that, in light of the Greek debt crisis, they would vote against the euro if a new referendum were to be held today. In 2003, Swedish voters snubbed the common currency by 56 per cent.Report by Claudia Laszczak.

Sweden was neutral during the Great War and like all neutral countries in World War 1 it was affected by the global conflict. Balancing neutrality between the Central Powers and the Entente while also maintaining trade with both sides was not easy - but very profitable. Especially the trade with Germany was very lucrative since it was circumventing the British Naval Blockade.
